ell, how did it go yesterday? Is your desk messy or did you walk into and uncluttered area that made you smile? Don’t despair if your area isn’t spotless because we just started this process yesterday and great things take time. It took me more than a week of 15 minute blocks of time when I started to, not only clear my desk but, get everything put away in a permanent home.

Your daily 15 – Let’s continue on with what we started yesterday. You probably still have a box or a pile with various documents, magazines, receipts, etc. in it so keep sorting these into three categories – DO – DELEGATE – FILE or put it in the trash. Remember, you must protect your identity so don’t throw anything away that has your personal information on it. Shred it instead.

Some of you may be done sorting so now it’s time to do something with the piles. Take all of the items in the DELEGATE pile/box and get rid of them. You may want to make a note on a pad of paper or on your computer to remind you to follow up with the person you gave the tasks or items to. Some items may not need follow up but you might just need to nudge your spouse to make sure the car gets a smog check before your registration expires (I know I do).

Feel free to leave a comment on how this is working for you or to ask me any questions.

Wow I need this site! My desks at home and at college are disasters – junk just keeps mounting with no end in sight. Together we can make my desks neat in no time!
